Garden City High School

Students must be active in Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp. Students participate in drills and competition. Perform drills at awards nights and civil ceremonies, visit military bases, raise funds for equipment.

Parade marches and plays for school activities including football and basketball games. Trips are taken occasionally. Attend camp in summer.

Lead cheers and does line routines at school functions and athletic events. Attend camp in the summer.

Sing and perform for school activities and for outside groups such as senior citizens.

Organized team sports within Garden City High School. They include touch football in the fall, basketball in the winter, softball in the spring.

Squad performs at football and basketball games and band activities. Attend camp in summer.

Students of Service

Students raise money for trips to foreign countries or cities with ethnic background and eat at Japanese, German and Spanish/Mexican restaurants.

Groups of students with exceptional skills, such as leadership, scholarship, service, raise funds each year for the Children's Hospital and other charities. Two candlelight inductions are in spring and in fall.

Drama group that puts on two or three productions a year, one is a musical. Students involved in all areas of putting on a stage production, acting, building sets, and ushering and selling tickets.

"Cougar Tracks" - Writes and publishes the school newspaper at least three times a year. Sell ads, write articles, interview and proofread.

Perform at school pep assemblies and school athletic events and competitive events doing dance routines to music with Pom Pons. Attend camp in summer.

Students against Driving Drunk - Organizes fund raisers, organize assemblies about dangers of drinking and driving, and participation in Project Graduation.

Sports Schedule

Organizes school activities and the collection of canned goods for Gleaner and Cans for Kids. Exchange days and ideas with other schools. Sponsors school assemblies.
