Meet your Middle School
Counseling Department

45      8th grade Counselor: Terri is a graduate of Kalamazoo
College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She attended
Eastern Michigan University, earning her Master’s Degree
in School Counseling. In addition, Terri is a licensed
professional counselor (LPC). She has worked as a
school counselor for 12 years, and is excited to return to
Garden City Middle School after taking a leave of
absence to be home with her family. Her children, River
and Axel, are 7 and 5.
 

   
Ms. Thelen is the 8th grade counselor at Garden City
Middle School. She received her Bachelor of Science
degree from Central Michigan University and her Master
of Arts in Counseling from Oakland University. She has
been a school counselor for 7 years. She enjoys
reading, running, and watching Dateline. Her passion
is helping and supporting students navigate through the
diverse and changing world.
