Student Council
GCMS Student Council is a committee of students who participate in activities that support the school and the community. The Student Council promotes leadership and team work. It provides students with a variety of opportunities to participate in school and community events, such as planning and setting up the Halloween and Christmas dances, the Thanksgiving Food Drive, Pennies for Pasta and many more. The Student Council meets on a monthly basis in addition to the student activities. Students on the Student Council must maintain a GPA of 2.0 and consistently follow the Student Code of Conduct. This club provides support and a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space as a support network for all kids. We aim to reduce any feelings of isolation and depression that students may experience, whatever their sexual or gender identity may be. We will be meeting once a month after school and sponsoring a MS dance.
Middle School PTSA
GCMS PTSA
Garden City Middle School PTSA is a committed group of parents, teachers, students, and community members working together to speak for every child with one voice. There is a yearly membership fee that supports activities in our community and child advocacy efforts across the state and nation. The PTSA meets monthly to plan events like the Welcome Back and Farewell Dances, 8th Grade year end BBQ, and School Store. There are many volunteer opportunities with PTSA, but many members choose to support the efforts of the organization with their membership donation only. Students will be able to practice their leaderships skills as they introduce and help plan new programs and events to the Middle School. Please visit our Garden City Middle School PTSA Facebook page for the most up to date information.
