District Information

Please join us at the regular bi-monthly board meetings which are open to the public.  Meetings are scheduled on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 7:00 pm.  During the school year, the meeting on the fourth Monday of the month will be held in a school building as the schedule permits. Public notices will be posted in the event of any change from this announced schedule.  If anyone has a disability which requires any accommodation in order for them to attend a meeting, please call Ms. Michelle Cline at 762-6311 no later than three business days prior to the meeting date. 

Meetings are taped and broadcast later in the week on Comcast Channel 10 at 9 am, 3 pm, 7 pm and 3 am.  These broadcasts are run daily.  The Administrative Service Center is located at 1333 Radcliff, Garden City, Michigan (one half mile south of Ford and one quarter mile west of Venoy).

The local school board is composed of seven local citizens, each elected to a four-year term of office. At least one position is open for election each year in May. Any registered voter may run for election to the school board. Members are elected at large from the total school district.

The Board has complete control over local school matters within the framework set by the state legislature and State Board of Education. The Board acts as a corporate board of directors determining general policies for the care, management, and control of the district's public schools. The superintendent and his administrative staff are responsible for the execution of these policies.
